Rescue Organizations
Do you know that we have quite a few pet rescue organizations in NJ?
When you are looking for a pet, please consider rescuing a pet either from a shelter or from a rescue. Pets need a second chance too!
Why should I adopt or foster from a rescue?
There are many advantages to adopting a pet through a rescue. First of all, with some rescues, you can just "Foster" an pet. Giving the animal a safe loving environment helps rescues by giving them time to find proper homes for each and every pet.
Some families may choose to "Foster to Adopt" this gives the family and the pet a chance to bond to see if the pet is a good fit for you and your family. Pets are matched with families to ensure that everyone is happy including the pet. You are not alone, Rescues are there for you even after you adopt! Also, All animals are seen by a Vet, updated on shots and spayed or neutered before they come to live in your home.
What if I need to find a home for my pet?
Sometimes circumstances just happen that make it impossible to keep your pet. If you contact a rescue, they will work with you to help find a loving home so that giving up your pet can be a little less stressful for you and the animal.
We will be contacting and listing the organizations on this page to help you to know where to turn for help in either surrendering your pet or if you would like to foster or adopt.
